Phoenix announce release date for their new album
Good news for Electric Picnic ticket-holders, as the French indie band gear up for a performance there this September.
Phoenix have announced that their new studio album, called Ti Amo, will be released on June 9.
Recorded in 2014 following the release of 2013's Bankrupt! album, guitarist Laurent Brancowitz said, in a NYT article, that the vibe of the album as “summer and Italian discos.” In the same article, he said the band holed up in “an old opera house near the Pompidou Center, in the heart of Paris,” installing recording gear in the space to do so.
The news follows the band’s announcement of a world tour, which was previewed with a teaser that was soundtracked by new music.
