Petrichor (Free EP/name your price)
I’ve always loved the word ‘petrichor’, which is defined as “the pleasant smell that accompanies the first rain after a dry spell.” Clearly, I was destined to adore an EP with this word in the title, but imagine my delight when Colin J. Morris’ debut release turned out to be an absolute knockout. Brimming with spooky, winding electronica, it’s every bit as magical as its title and most certainly an EP for the wee hours. The four-tracker flows seamlessly, but make sure to prick up your ears for the epic-sounding ‘Radium Dials’, a clear standout.
