Penny Sparkle
New York art-punks release career best album
Just when we think we’ve got a good idea of what hugely-respected Blonde Redhead are all about, they rip up the rulebook once more for Penny Sparkle. A swirling, symphonic album, it finds the trio leaning towards more of an ‘80s electro feel this time around. Tracks such as ‘Will There Be Stars’ and ‘Love Or Prison’ are so subtle it takes a while for them to sink in. However, if you stick with it and let the dreamy soundscapes settle in your mind, then you’re in for a treat. Penny Sparkle is one of their best records yet.
