It’s hard to believe that this is Peace Division’s first mix CD. After all, they’ve recently remixed Moby and turned down the same offer from Kylie. Not bad for two acid house survivors. One listen to ‘Peace Process’, and it’s obvious that Henry and Drake have pioneered their own style. Consisting of twisted, tribal dance floor grooves, tripped out material covering the grey area between deep house and funky techno, the mix starts with deep, spacey tech-house from Rhythm Plate, Boob Jazz and Twilight, before heading into more percussive, stripped down grooves from Marino Berardi and drum heavy loops from Lovesky and their own re-working of Freak Project’s ‘Beat Of A Drum’. In the current boundary blurred climate, Peace Process catches the modernist groove better than any other compilation.
