Paul McGrath makes solo music debut

Below you will find former Irish international (and former Hot Press columnist) Paul McGrath tackle Dusty Springfield's reflective, melancholic tune 'Goin' Back'. Yes, you did read that correctly. The video finds the Black Pearl Of Inchicore crooning away on Curracloe beach, and even includes a little stone-skimming on the waves.

A definite career change for McGrath, he is set to release his solo debut album on September 23. It is an 11-track selection of covers, including songs from Kris Kristofferson, The Travelling Willburys and Elvis Costello.

The fact that a percentage of the proceeds will be going to the Acquired Brain Injury Foundation and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Ireland must be applauded. You can listen to 'Goin' Back' for yourself right now.
