The home of hard house celebrates ten years at the top with three of its near legendary DJ team: The Sharp Boys and Gonzalo observe the present and the future, and a special New Year’s Eve mini-mix from the late, great Tony de Vit commemorates the past. Some of the most intoxicating club music around is contained within; a timely reminder that there’s much more to hard house than the manic 150bpm offbeat material dominating many DJs’ sets these days. The Sharp Boys’ cheeky cover of ‘Generate Power’ dominates their tough American flavoured set, while Gonzalo’s high-octane journey veers expertly through Knuckleheadz, BK and F1 territory. As for the inclusion of Tony’s midnight section of his last NYE set at Trade: who says hard house isn’t emotionally stirring? One could argue that Trade could have come up with something even more special for its tenth anniversary but I think you’ll have to be at the Turnmills party to get that.
