Outta Control

Harking back to the golden age of hip hop (the metaphorically golden ‘90s as opposed to the literally golden noughties), ‘Outta Control’ combines old-school sounds with old-school images; West Coast rapper MED and Odd Future’s Hodgy Beats provide vaguely melodic rhymes over Madlib’s minimal beats, while navigating an animated and highly-colourful parallel universe, where they mostly smoke enormous spliffs and drive around in a hastily shaded-in pick-up truck. They sure don’t make them like this any more.
