Original Soundtrack
Top notch soundtrack to new Wim Wenders movie
Film soundtracks are usually a pretty boring affair to listen to without the visual accompaniment, but Wim Wenders’ Palermo Shooting is an exception to the rule. Featuring a host of alternative icons such as Portishead, Iron & Wine, Bonnie Prince Billy and the mighty Nick Cave, this is more like a mix-tape that you’d give to your friend in art school than a traditional score. Along with previously available gems like ‘Some Kinda Love’ by the Velvet Underground and Beth Gibbons and Rustin’ Man’s ‘Mysteries’, there are two exclusive Grinderman offerings, ‘Dream (Song For Finn)’ and ‘Song For Frank’), which are as good as anything you’ll find on their two albums. Sometimes rules are made to be broken.
Key Track: Grinderman – ‘Dream (Song For Finn)’
