Oo Song
Vocally, Liz Lawrence is a dead ringer for Laura Marling, but there’s none of Marling’s trademark wintriness in her debut single ‘Oo Song’. On the contrary, this sprightly ukulele-led number has a cheerful jangle that betrays even its own heartsick tone. Lawrence sounds effortlessly confident as she taunts, “You say you’re young and nothing like your father/Why go to school when nobody else bothers?” and thanks to an intoxicating melody, she easily gets away with it.
