Nouvelle Vague to play Dublin
French band Nouvelle Vague in concert at Rockefeller Music Hall in Oslo, Norway, 25 February 2007. Copyright Martin Stabenfeldt.
It’s louche lounge lizardry ahoy! as Nouvelle Vague pay a May 26 visit to Dublin’s Tripod.
If you’re not familiar with their oeuvre, the French combo specialise in giving the bossa nova treatment to songs like Buzzcocks’ ‘Ever Fallen In Love?’, Depeche Mode’s ‘Just Can’t Get Enough’ and Dead Kennedys’ ‘Too Drunk To Fuck’.
It sounds horrendous, but actually works a treat.
