Nocturnal Frequencies 03
On this third instalment of Frequencies, he joins the dots between West Coast house music and deep techno.
Along with Craig Richards and Lee Burridge, Danny Howells was called a ‘nu breed’ DJ last year. Unfortunately for the amiable Brit, it means that people expect great, genre hopping things from him, when he is really just a house DJ, albeit a skilful one. On this third instalment of Frequencies, he joins the dots between West Coast house music and deep techno from Funk D’Void and Slam, while dropping a cluster of progressive house tracks and classics, including Nitzer Ebb’s ‘Join In The Chant’. Danny Howells doesn’t really break any boundaries, but, unlike most modern DJs, he’s open minded enough to experiment and for this he deserves
recognition.
