NIYL announces new single 'Wind's Call' from debut album Parish is Burning
Tickets for the album launch gig are on sale now.
Irish indie-pop artist NIYL has announced his newest single, 'Wind's Call', will release on November 21 to coincide with his debut album, Parish is Burning. To celebrate, NIYL will be hosting a special launch show at Whelan's upstairs in Dublin, with support from St Bishop.
Earlier this year the Limerick artist competed in Eurosong with his song 'Growth', which is set to feature on the new album.
As well as being inspired by artists like London Grammar, Woodkid, and Yebba, NIYL's music also draws on his upbringing in the west of Ireland.
"'Wind's call' is about fate and resistance – that moment when love feels both inevitable and doomed," NIYL says. "It's the sound of two people standing at the edge of something beautiful and destructive, unsure which way the storm will turn."
Parish is Burning is described as both a personal and cultural reflection on identity, belonging, and resilience in modern Ireland. Across 10 tracks, the album follows the rhythm of the seasons, with summer and spring representing renewal and growth, while autumn and winter focus on reflection and loss.
Tickets for the Whelan's gig can be purchased at Whelanslive.com
