Nick McCarthy to sit out new Franz Ferdinand album
Meanwhile, Alex Kapranos was at the Galway Film Fleadh screening of Lost In France
Franz Ferdinand have announced that guitarist Nick McCarthy “won’t be taking part in the recording and touring of their new album. Nick has a young family and does not want to be away from them for a long period. This is not necessarily a permanent situation.”
Meanwhile, frontman Alex Kapranos was in Galway at the weekend for the Film Fleadh screening of Lost In France, Irish director Niall McGann’s documentary on Scotland’s 1990s indie scene, which also focuses on The Delgados, Bis, Mogwai and Arab Strap.
