Nick Kelly wins Best Irish First Feature award in Galway
We're seriously looking forward to The Drummer & The Keeper!
Fat Lady Sings man Nick Kelly has bagged Best Irish First Feature at the Galway Film Fleadh with The Drummer & The Keeper.
As the name implies, the Dublin-set tale of the friendship between a bipolar musician and a teen with Asperger’s Syndrome draws on Kelly’s twin passions – rock ‘n’ roll and football (he’s a long suffering Everton fan).
The cast includes Peter Coonan, Phelim Drew, Charlie Kelly, Annie Ryan, Aoibhinn McGinnity, and Niamh Algar who seriously impressed recently in Without Name, an independent Irish horror film that scared the bejaysus out of us!
Due on September 8, it’s been acquired by Element Pictures who’ve previously worked the like of Room, The Lobster and Frank. Which is great company to be keeping…
