New street arts festival to launch in Tallaght this August
A new festival is coming to Parthalán Place in Tallaght on August 15.
On August 15, Replay Festival will bring together skateboarding, live music, graffiti, dance and street culture for a free, open-access day in South Dublin's County Council's new public space, Parthalán Place.
The programme is built around several distinct zones running across the day, and is produced by NOISE Music and SoFFt Productions.
The main music stage will host a full day of live acts and DJs, from family-friendly sets to high-energy performances. It will feature a live rap cypher, a NOISE Music takeover, and a headline closing performance. The NOISE Music Cypher Project supports young DJs, producers, and MCs to develop and perform new work alongside established artists throughout the day.
Skateboarding will sit at the centre, with a performance zone for advanced skaters and live trick demonstrations alongside a mini ramp zone for beginner sessions.
A Dance Zone will host morning showcases from dance crews and collectives with participation sessions for community groups.
The wider area will feature roaming performances, circus acts, food stalls and a craft maker, alongside facepainting, football freestyle and live graffiti. Additional elements include a library project and an upcycling initiative.
The festival is rooted in accessibility, creativity and participation, creating spaces for all ages, abilities and interests to engage with.
"I think it's absolutely incredible what's happening here," said festival ambassador Becky Gilmour.
"It's so important to have places where we can feel included and grow in our creativity and expression. I never had places like this growing up, especially for skateboarding; I felt like I was in the way. Having something like this where people can come, and they can try it for the first time or for the hundredth time, they can really develop in things they love."
