New Irish label and online store launches this week from members of Fontaines D.C., Adebisi Shank and Faction Records

Members of Fontaines D.C., Adebisi Shank and Faction Records have launched a new independent label and online store dedicated to Irish music.

Called Inis Records, the venture has been founded by Fontaines D.C. drummer Tom Coll, Michael Roe of Adebisi Shank and Faction Records' Ken Allen. The label will focus on releasing new music alongside landmark Irish reissues and overlooked gems, while its accompanying online store will stock Irish releases spanning every era and genre.

In addition to its own releases, Inis Records plans to provide distribution and back-end services for selected independent labels, with the founders citing a desire to strengthen Ireland's independent music infrastructure, according to Nialler9.

The project also aims to support emerging artists who may not yet have access to physical distribution.

Speaking about the new venture, Coll said the label was created to help Irish artists access stronger independent support at home.

"Inis Records is about providing an independent label infrastructure in Ireland, giving Irish music a platform to grow and create unique physical music for Irish artists," he told Nialler9.

"We want to create truly special vinyl runs, reissue some older gems and support the next wave of Irish music."

The label launches with pre-orders for a reissue of Against Nature by Fatima Mansions. Future releases are set to include a traditional music compilation curated by Coll, a showband compilation assembled by The Mary Wallopers' Charles Hendy, and further reissues of significant Irish albums.

The online store is now live, stocking releases from artists including Fontaines D.C., CMAT, Lankum and Kneecap.
