Neil Young cancels plans for free Ukrainian show
neil young and the chrome hearts will perform in Dublin on June 26.
Neil Young has cancelled plans to hold a free concert in Ukraine due to safety concerns.
“We are currently in talks and will make the announcement of details here at NYA,” read a statement on his website regarding the Ukrainian show, posted earlier this month. “Keep on Rockin’ in the FREE WORLD.”
Yesterday, Young uploaded a new statement onto his website canceling the show.
“I could not in good conscience take my crew and instruments into that area,” he wrote. “My apologies to all. Ukraine is a great country with a good leader. Slava Ukraini.”
neil young and the chrome hearts’ love on earth tour will kick off in June, with a show at Dublin’s Malahide Castle set for the 26th. They will perform across the UK, Europe and North America.
