Nancy Sinatra calls out Donald Trump for using Frank Sinatra's music in Truth Social post
Nancy Sinatra joins a growing number of musicians who have taken a stand against or sought action against Trump for using their music without permission.
Nancy Sinatra has condemned Donald Trump's use of her father, Frank Sinatra's, music in a recent post.
Trump shared a video on his Truth Social platform featuring Frank Sinatra performing 'My Way' at Madison Square Garden in 1974, without any accompanying context or commentary.
A frequent and vocal critic of Trump on X, Nancy Sinatra responded to the post by agreeing with a fan that the action was "sacrilege" and that Trump "goes against everything that Frank stood for" as a "big champion for equality and supported the Civil Rights movement."
She also amplified other fan comments, including one stating, "Trump may love Sinatra, but Sinatra did not love Trump," to emphasise her father's likely disapproval.
When asked by a fan how to prevent Trump from using the song, Sinatra answered, "Unfortunately no. The only people who can do something are the publishers.”
Nancy Sinatra joins a growing number of musicians, such as Olivia Rodrigo, Beyoncé, Neil Young, Sabrina Carpenter and more, who have taken a stand against or sought action against Trump for using their music without permission.
