My Bloody Valentine to Appear At Robert Smith-Curated Meltdown Festival
Irish shoegaze legends My Bloody Valentine have been handpicked by the eagerly legendary Robert Smith to appear as part of the Cure frontman's mouthwatering Meltdown festival line-up.
Taking part at the Southank Centre in London from June 15-24, the frankly ludicrous collection of talent assembled by the goth, yes, Figurehead in his Cure-ated line-up (groan - Ed.) also includes the iconic likes of Nine Inch Nails, My Bloody Valentine, Mogwai, Manic Street Preachers, Psychedelic Furs and much, much more!
Intriguingly, the lad Smith once commented that he'd become a fan of MBV after a period "spent listening to stuff like The Dubliners." Now there's a session we'd like to hear! According to the Cure maestro, the final picture for this year's Meltdown "will be out of this world." We heartily agree – indeed, Smith's line-up is well on course to equal Scott Walker's equally outrageous 2000 bill, when the headliners were Blur, Radiohead and Pulp!
