'My "alcoholic rage" hell'
Westlife's Brian McFadden never meant to start something with So Solid Crew - it was just "one drunken night and it could have happened to anyone". "If another band had been sitting there instead," he explains, "I'd have had a go at them"
Westlife's Brian McFadden has spoken for the first time about his Brits bust-up with So Solid Crew.
Describing it as "just one of those things", McFadden admits, "I was really pissed. It was nothing personal. I'm not usually like that.
"They were nearest to me and just got the brunt of my alcoholic rage. If another band had been sitting there instead, I'd have had a go at them.
"It was just one of those things. I got drunk really quickly and just hit out. It was nothing personal to the boys. I like their music.
"To be honest," he finishes, "it was all a bit of a blur. There were no bottles thrown. It was just a lot of shouting and swearing. It wasn't malicious. I just want to forget the whole thing. It was one drunken night and it could have happened to anyone."
The So Solid boys – and girls – don't appear to have taken any lasting offence, with Asher D commenting: "At the Brits everyone has a lot to drink and say things that they don't mean. We don't hold nothing against Westlife. We just want to keep everything clean cut on the industry scene."
