MTU Cork School of Music Percussion Ensemble release debut album Glioscarnach
The record comes out on December 6.
The MTU Cork School of Music (CSM) Percussion Ensemble announces the release of its debut album, Glioscarnach on Saturday December 6, 2025, released under the university’s own record label, CSM Sounds.
Glioscarnach, recorded under the direction of renowned percussionist Stephen Kelley, showcases the diverse sonic landscape of the modern percussion ensemble.
The title track 'Glioscarnach' was specially commissioned of esteemed composer Paul Frost, by the MTU Arts Office “Create le Chéile” arts project award.
The track was composed by Frost, a graduate of MTU CSM for percussionist Caitríona Frost, also a graduate of MTU CSM, and recorded, mixed and mastered by Joe Clarke (PhD candidate at MTU) in the CSM’s recording studio.
The album will be launched at a concert on December 6 at 12pm in the Foyer of MTU Cork School of Music, Union Quay in Cork City. Admission is free.
