Mono Band change name
Former Cranberries guitarist Noel Hogan has confirmed that his Mono Band outfit have changed their name to Arkitekt.
Noel Hogan’s Mono Band previously used a variety of vocalists, but he has now decided to work exclusively with Oxford man Richard Walters.
The group are now called Arkitekt, a new guise which will be christened in August by Black Hair, a three-track EP recorded in London and Limerick, and mixed in part by ex-Suede man Bernard Butler.
Hogan is fortunate that a Tennessee four-piece with the same moniker have recently called it a day.
Not to be outdone, Cranberries drummer Fergal Lawler and the rest of The Low Network have just finished mastering their own three-tracker featuring ‘Wasted’, ‘Skyline’ and ‘Hollow’.
Having copped a pre-release listen, hotpress.com can report that it’s very atmospheric and, well, Cranberries-esque with Jennifer McMahon’s ethereal vocals not dissimilar to early Dolores.
The other member of the group, Kieran Calvert, formerly plied his trade with those other Limerick contenders, Woodstar.
