Mogwai announce departure of guitarist John Cummings

Mogwai have announced that guitarist John Cummings has left the band.
The Scottish post-rock outfit released a very short statement this morning, confirming that Cummings has severed ties to pursue his own musical projects going forward - and, of course, wishing him the best for the future.
In the meantime, the band - who are celebrating 20 years on the go - will continue as a four-piece, with frontman Stuart Braithwaite, drummer Martin Bullock, bassist Dominic Aitchison and multi-instrumentalist Barry Burns joined for live shows by Scott Paterson and Luke Sutherland.
