Mind Elevation
The songs on this new album are groovy, chilled, relaxed, pleasant and inoffensive affairs which invariably start absolutely beautifully but then go absolutely nowhere
As is once again evidenced on their fourth record, Mind Elevation, Nightmares on Wax make purpose-built dope-smoking music.
The songs on this new album are groovy, chilled, relaxed, pleasant and inoffensive affairs which invariably start absolutely beautifully but then go absolutely nowhere.
Instead of progressions, segues, swells or anything resembling a chorus, we get some sweetly funky hooks repeated over and over again, the occasional lovely vocal line repeated over and over again, and, well, that’s about it, really.
For a late night passing around of a bong, Mind Elevation makes the perfect listening material. But this is one album you would most definitely be better off borrowing.
Good within its (hemp) field.
