Midge Ure pays solo visit to Dublin
Former Slik, Ultravox and Band Aid man Midge Ure plays an acoustic show on March 2 in Dublin’s Sugar Club.
Winning Ivor Novello, Grammy and BASCAP awards along the way, Ure’s 35-year-plus career has also found him working with Phil Lynott – the tune they co-authored, ‘Yellow Pearl’, was the Top Of The Pops theme for what seemed like ever – and taking care of emergency guitar duties for Thin Lizzy.
From ‘Vienna’ and ‘Reap The Wild Wind’ to ‘If I Was’ and ‘Dancing With Tears In My Eyes’ – he might give ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas’ a miss on seasonality grounds – you’re pretty much guaranteed to recognise all the tunes!
