McQuaid Irish tour
Singer-guitarist Sarah McQuaid has announced details of her Spring Irish tour which will follow treks around the USA, Spain and UK.
Her first Irish gig on this tour will be on Wednesday April 7 at St John’s Theatre & Arts Centre in Listowel and it will conclude on Sunday April 18 at Dublin’s Unitarian Church.
Waterford-based Liam Merriman will join her for two dates on the tour, McCarthy’s Bar, Dingle and The Grand Hotel, Tramore.
McQuaid is currently mixing her third solo album recorded in Ireland last summer with Gerry O'Beirne producing and Trevor Hutchinson engineering. Guests include O'Beirne, Hutchinson, Niamh Parsons, Noel Eccles, Maire Breatnach and Rosie Shipley. The album includes Elizabethan songs, a couple of 16th century instrumental pieces McQuaid arranged for DADGAD-tuned guitar, songs in Old French, Old Occitan, Italian, Latin and Middle High German, as well as five originals, including the title track, ‘The Plum Tree And The Rose’. It's earliest likely release date is Autumn 2010.
