Matthew Mole announces gig September gig at The Workman's Club
He'll be joined by special guest Hollie Col.
Matthew Mole will be joined by special guest Hollie Col for a performance in Dublin at The Workman's Club on September 28.
The gig is in celebration of the South African artist's most recent album, Ghost, released in November.
Ghost contains Mole's typical eclectic blend of folk, electronica undertones and positive vibes, but sees him experimenting with more electronics to create a bigger sound. It's inspired by overcoming difficulties, also represented by the ghost who graces the album's cover. Ollie, short for Oleander, represents fear.
"The songs on this album represent fighting difficult situations in life. A lot of the difficulty comes down to fear or insecurity. The ghost represents those insecurities," he explains. “It is something that intimidates us when we feel most vulnerable, but which ultimately has no power over us because we know that things will get better."
Tickets are €17.50 and go on sale Friday, March 13 at 11.30am.
