Master Session 2 – Calle 23, Havanna, Cuba
Up Bustle and Out deliver their second offering of music written in and inspired by Fidel’s pretty patch, Cuba.
While not as, erm, stoner-friendly as the last instalment, bewitching jams like the dark, sax-led ‘Mariel Port’, the bright and breezy ‘Guantanamera’-like sing-a-long of ‘Descarga Caramelo’ (does that mean caramel snails?), the sultry dub of ‘Sane Men Surround’ (check the lazy harmonica and try not too feel like a gringo) and the ruff funk and sexy sax on ‘Dominoe Boys’ transport you down that dusty sidestreet in Havanna you’ve always wanted to visit.
Or, to put it another way, like the Buena Vista Social Club having a long slow jam down Ninja Tune central.
