Lucky Day
Even after the veritable stomper that was 'Beat Of My Drum', we weren't expecting the very-nearly-useless Nicola Roberts to come up with something as good as 'Lucky Day', a quirk-laden electro-pop tune with more energy and soul than we'd thought Ms. Roberts capable of. For a result that's part Kate Bush, part Little Boots, there must have been a whole lot of production wizardry at work on this fidgety number, so hats off to Canadian new wavers Dragonette, who've done a particularly good job of beefing up their ginger mascot's flighty vocal. If you still think I'm being too hard on the former Girl Aloud, take yourself over to YouTube and watch her suck the fun out of her own floorfiller at T4 In The Park. At 2.57 minutes, you finally get your money's worth when an errant beach ball hits her right on the noggin.
