(Love Is Like A) Heatwave
There's a lot to like about Phil Collins in 2010. He overcame severe nerve damage to his hands by taping drum sticks to his paws for the recording of his new album, he nabbed himself a handful of the original Funk Brothers to perform with him (you may remember them from every Motown hit from 1959 to 1972) and he looks only gorgeous, so he does. Ordinarily, Motown cover albums make me want to go kablooie (and truth be told Going Back will probably be no different) but Phil’s version of Martha Reeves' 'Heatwave' is a solid and energetic tribute to the original.
