Lost Where I Belong
smokey-voiced chanteuse gets bogged down in gloopy songcraft
Already a much talked about talent by those in the know, Lost Where I Belong is Andreya Triana’s debut album and while her smoky, soulful voice has never sounded better, this is not quite the triumph we were expecting. For the most part the record has an odd downbeat feel, and the sampled sounds and apparent absence of hooks leaves this listener at least feeling decidedly unsatisfied. There’s no doubting that Triana has a stellar voice, but she desperately needs to get the right songs to match it.
Key Track: ‘Something In The Silence’
