Breaks fans and DJs will love every minute
Breaks isn’t exactly the kind of genre that produces great ‘listening’ albums, but this debut effort from B.L.I.M. is as close as you’ll get to it. From the lean skank of ‘Kappur’ with its intriguing vocals, through the clinical, prog-influenced ‘Dust’, the haunting Amen-based percussiveness of ‘Loonies/Afrique’ and the massive ‘2Freaks’, with an excellent vocal from Chickaboo, it’s more 4/4-based than you might expect, and all the better for it. Breaks fans and DJs will love every minute while the more open-minded house DJ will find a use for at least three cuts. Check.
