Los Angeles
LA scenesters Flying Lotus bring us Los Angeles – a slab of wax that’s fuelled by hip-hop and bleeding-edge dance music.
At the moment Flying Lotus is the hottest name in the Californian club scene bar none. Los Angeles is his debut offering and it’s a slab of wax that’s fuelled by hip-hop and bleeding-edge dance music. All 17 tracks are wonderfully inventive and there’s more than a few nods to that other master beat-maker David Holmes, especially on the shuffling, scratchy sounds of ‘Golden Diva.’ At times Los Angeles has a tendency to become wallpaper music, but it’s still full of more ideas than most bands have in a lifetime.
