Live Review: Detroit Swindle @ Forbidden Fruit
The Friday evening crowd at Forbidden Fruit is swelling increasingly since the afternoon’s slow start, and Maarten Smeets and Lars Dales of Detroit Swindle are certainly benefiting from it.
A packed out tent at the Lighthouse Stage sees the pair bringing their bass-driven brand of dance to the masses at Kilmainham, and the pair don’t put a foot wrong playing tracks from their 2015 EP, The Punch Drunk.
Powerfully rushing drum beats give the set an edge, and the crowd roars appreciatively as the bass drops. The duo don’t miss a beat, and the invigorating set list appropriately sets up the crowd for the biggest acts that have yet to come.
