The show marks the first European date of her Aftercare World Tour.
Nessa Barrett filled up Dublin’s 3Olympia Theatre on Monday, selling out night one of her two-show stay.
Fans squealed in anticipation for Sombr, who opened up the night. His music addressed themes of love and longing, and his soft billowing voice quickly filled the venue. The musician, at only 19, has already garnered a dedicated following, with the entire theatre singing along to his 2024 singles ‘savior’ and ‘do i ever cross your mind.’ His indie-rock and alt-pop sound provided a medium for his lyrics, often pining over an unidentified mystery girl.
“Thank you so much to Nessa Barrett for having me,” he said. “I love you Nessa. She’s one of the greatest people I know, she’s amazing.”
Ending his set with the booming single ‘back to friends,’ I watched girls around me shriek with excitement. He had a fast grip on the crowd, holding their attention up until his final note.

The lights dimmed as Barrett's set began. The artist walked on stage wearing a pink flowing dress and clutching a hot pink bass. She opened with 'DIRTY LITTLE SECRET' of her 2024 album AFTERCARE. Fans screamed along to every word, nearly louder than Barrett herself. Her warm voice rose with strength and power, but still maintained a delicate quality. She continued on with 'DISCO,' a bassy track urging listeners to dance.
"Hello Dublin!" she exclaimed.
Barrett waved to the crowd shyly, who erupted in impassioned screams. From the moment her performance began, any spare moment of silence was instantly filled with someone shrieking their confession of love to the singer. Her relationship with the audience was intense, but ultimately not one-sided.
"This is so crazy to me. This is my first headline show here, so it's really special," she said. "I'm having so much fun! You guys are amazing...I love you!"
Barrett's lyricism often reflected on past relationships, highlighting experiences with men that were nostalgic, vulnerable and broken. Cash and glitter swirled on the screen behind her as she sang 'heartbreak in the hamptons' off her 2023 EP hell is a teenage girl. The glamorous song matched Barrett's sultry energy, getting down on her knees and whipping her hair.

Fans went wild for 'PINS AND NEEDLES,' a track with nearly 85,000 videos under its sound on TikTok. The song became an anthem for young women moving on from their ex's, and generated a visceral energy when performed live.
Later in the night, Barrett delivered her rendition of Portishead's 'Glory Box.' The song fit in beautifully with her curated aura, laying down her heart for the world to see.
"I don't want to say goodbye!" she told the crowd. "I've had so much fun tonight. Thank you...I love you so much!"
The singer didn't leave before performing the gut-wrenching 'die first,' a song dedicated to her deceased friend Cooper Noriega. The song addresses the pain of living on without one of your loved ones, with brutal lyricism making it her most powerful work yet.
In a tone switch, Barrett finished off the night with the fun and upbeat 'P*RNSTAR.' The crowd sang along as the singer dropped to her knees, reveling in the heavy wave of bass.
Prancing off stage without a word, Barrett left fans with a deeply communal experience. Singing their hearts out with her and dancing, tonight's show is sure to reflect Monday's status.
