Little Matador - Stitch Yourself Up

Full disclosure. When I first heard about Snow Patrol guitarist Nathan Connolly’s much talked about new rock band I was dubious. While they feature LaFaro’s Dave Magee (one of the country’s best riff lords) in their ranks, the fact is SP aren’t exactly famous for turning the amps up to 11. My eyebrow was almost immediately set to “arched”. Debut single ‘Stitch Yourself Up’ helps silence most of the doubts, thanks to a stomping rhythm and fuzzed up guitar solo. Fans of Band of Skulls and mid-period QOTSA will love this.
