The Beatles, Iron Butterfly, Van Halen, Queen and William Shatner are just a handful of the names that have popped up on Montage of Heck, a freshly unearthed mix tape assembled by one Kurt Cobain in 1988 when he was 21 years of age.

It's not the easiest half an hour you're ever likely to hear, with washings of discordant noise a recurring theme. Check it out below.
