Listen: DJ Shadow Releases New Track Featuring Run The Jewels

DJ Shadow has dropped a new tune featuring EL-P and Killer Mike, better known as Run The Jewels.

The new track is taken from his upcoming album The Mountain Will Fall, which is due for release on June 24. The Bay-area musician began working on his fifth solo album during the summer of 2015.

When Josh created the beat for 'Nobody Speak', he only had two rappers in mind to rap over it. “Occasionally, I make a beat that demands a specific vocal treatment and attitude," says DJ Shadow. "In the case of ‘Nobody Speak,’ I wasn’t going to settle for anyone other than Run The Jewels; in my mind, it was them or no one. Fortunately, they agreed, and they took the track to a place I could never get to on my own. That’s the definition of a rewarding collaboration.”

The 12-track LP includes collaborations with Run The Jewels, Nils Frahm, Matthew Halsall, & more.

In addition to the standard digital/ iTunes version, there will be double vinyl and CD examples, as well as some limited goodies for die-hard Shadow fans.

DJ Shadow will also be playing solo shows starting in late June and continuing on throughout the rest of the year.
