Listen: Barq release single 'Optimus Prime'
Ahead of their appearance at Electric Picnic this weekend, Jess Kav and co. have dropped another track showcasing their "agrosoul" sound.
The thunderous discord of biting instrumentation and Kav's fierce vocals fuel the high-energy track, which roils and rattles to a sudden cutoff.
“The song is about asking for help, admitting fault, learning to be vulnerable and finally seeing vulnerability as strength", Kav said about the single.
Commenting on the accompanying video, which is a homage to sci-fi b-movies, she added, "We’ve used certain metaphors like Bionic for development and malfunction for weakness. The malfunction in the video results in a new version, an upgrade: Adult 2.0!”
Listen below.
Catch Barq at Electric Picnic this weekend, Sunday at 12.10am on the Body & Soul stage.
