Lisa O'Neill announces Ulster tour, as part of effort to play all 32 counties
She also has an upcoming performance tomorrow, July 18, for Live at the Castle Mills in Kilkenny.
Cavan musician Lisa O’Neill has announced a tour of her home province, Ulster, this September – as part of her effort to play in all 32 counties of Ireland.
The contemporary Irish folk artist will play in Donegal, Monaghan, Derry, Cavan, Tyrone, Belfast and Bangor from September 9 to September 20, with dates in Fermanagh and Armagh to be confirmed.
“One of my influences, Margaret Barry, said she toured the thirty-two counties thirty-two times, up and down, over and back, villages, glens, cities and towns, markets and fairs,” O’Neill wrote on Instagram. “To get the ball rolling this September, I look forward to hitting the first of four provinces.”
The five-time BBC Folk Awards nominee released her fifth studio album, All Of This Is Chance, in 2023. The previous year, her cover of Bob Dylan's 'All The Tired Horses' closed out the final series of Peaky Blinders.
O’Neill’s latest release was her EP, The Wind Doesn’t Blow This Far Right, in November of last year, which she has been performing since then. She has also been touring extensively with The Pogues for their reunion and greatest hits tours.
She has an upcoming performance tomorrow, July 18, for Live at the Castle Mills in Kilkenny.
