Lesley Roy announces album release date

Balbriggan pop rocker Lesley Roy has confirmed the release dates for Unbeautiful, her debut album for Jive Records whose roster also includes Justin ‘n’ Britney.

It’s out in America on September 30, with the rest of the world getting in on the act in January.

Tracks include ‘Slow Goodbye’, ‘Thinking Out Loud’, ‘Psycho Bitch’ and ‘I’m Gone I’m Going’, which in addition to being the lead single has also been picked by MTV as the theme to their new My Super Sweet 16 spin-off, Exiled!

“Exiled! will follow eight My Super Sweet 16 girls who – at the behest of their parents – were transplanted to primitive tribes around the world to eat, sleep and experience the lifestyle of the teenage girls who live there year round,” explains an MTV spokesperson.

With Roy now managed by Avril Lavigne mentor Terry McBride, the feeling in the US is that the she could be one of 2008’s big breakthrough acts.
