Legendary Bob Dylan Producer, Bob Johnston dies
Producer to Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan, Bob Johnston dies
Celebrated for producing Dylan's Blonde On Blonde, Johnny Cash's 'Folsom Prison' and Leonard Cohen's Songs From A Room, Johnston passed away peacefully in a hospital in Nashville on Friday. Working for Columbia Records during the 1960s collaborating with some of the biggest names in music. Speaking of his approach to producing Johnston was forever modest "“I saw brilliance being destroyed, album after album, group after group, because producers went in and were overly ready … It wasn’t art! All I did was turn the tapes on!”
