Lankum announce biggest indoor show to date at the Eventim Apollo in London

After teasing that there was major news on the way earlier today, Lankum have announced their biggest indoor gig to date – taking place at the Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith, London, on October 26.

Over the years, the iconic venue has played host to major names like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Marley, Ella Fitzgerald, David Bowie, and Queen.

Lankum scored a Mercury Prize nomination – and topped several prestigious end-of-year album lists – with their latest LP, False Lankum. The album reached No.2 on the Official Irish Albums Chart, as well as No.1 on the Independent Albums Chart.

"Named after the ballad from which they took their name, False Lankum being presented as a quasi self-titled project, four albums in, feels apt – serving as both a groundbreaking reintroduction for steadfast fans, and a crucial launching pad for new audiences," the Hot Press album review reads. The four-piece are nominated for several awards at the upcoming Choice Music Prize – including Album of the Year for False Lankum, Song of the Year for 'Go Dig My Grave', and Irish Artist of the Year. They are also nominated in multiple categories at the RTÉ Radio 1 Folk Awards, taking place next week, including Best Traditional Folk Track ('Go Dig My Grave'), Best Folk Group, and Best Folk Album (False Lankum).

On June 8, Lankum will headline the inaugural In The Meadows, a one-day festival at the Royal Hospital Kilmainham in Dublin.
