KNEECAP announce livestreamed concert in place of cancelled U.S. tour
"Join us on October 10th for much more than a gig...it is a moment for us all to stand together in defiance and solidarity," KNEECAP said.
KNEECAP have announced a one-off livestreamed concert on October 10 in place of their recently cancelled U.S. shows.
In posts across their social media, the rap trio said they will broadcast from a "secret location in Ireland."
"We were not willing to allow this British witch-hunt stop us playing to tens of thousands of fans across the US so have a very special gig to bring to you from a secret location in Ireland," KNEECAP said.
Last week, the rap trio the cancellation of all 15 U.S. tour dates planned for October due to the timing of member Mo Chara's upcoming court appearance in London.
Mo Chara was charged with terrorism for allegedly holding a Hezbollah flag at a concert. The band said the flag was thrown on stage and argued that the charges are politically motivated for their criticism of Israel's occupation of Gaza and of British presence in Ireland.
"Join us for much more than a gig," KNEECAP said.
"It is a moment for us all to stand together in defiance and solidarity."
The performance, which will feature yet-unrevealed special guests, will be broadcast live and uncensored globally at 9:00 p.m. EST (2:00 a.m. IST). There will also be a ticketed showing at Kings Theatre in Brooklyn, New York.
Livestream access is on sale now for €13 via KNEECAP's website. Tickets for the New York showing will go on sale this Friday, September 5 at 12:00 p.m. EST (5:00 p.m. IST) at the same link.
