The trio is set to headline Wide Awake Festival in London tonight
A message reading "KNEECAP ABÚ" in support of the rap group appeared in bold white letters on Black Mountain overlooking West Belfast on Friday.
The display was organised by the Irish-language advocacy group An Dream Dearg, in a show of solidarity with the band. Aerial footage of the message, alongside clips of activists waving Irish and Palestinian flags, were shared on Kneecap’s Instagram.
The public show of support coincided with the release of Kneecap's latest track, 'The Recap Ft. Mozey (Bootleg Version),' which initially came out on the band's Whatsapp channel.

The new track takes aim at UK MP and Conservative Party Leader Kemi Badenoch, who has recently called for the group to be banned from festivals. As the acting business secretary last year, Badenoch had tried to deny Kneecap arts funding they had been awarded.

The Belfast High Court then ruled that the British government had acted illegally by withholding £14,250 in funding on the basis of the band's political views.
The new song comes just days after Kneecap member Liam Óg Ó hAnnaidh (Mo Chara) was charged under UK terrorism laws for allegedly displaying a Hezbollah flag at a London concert in November last year. The band denies any wrongdoing and claims the charges are a political "witch-hunt" for their activism in trying to stop the genocide in Gaza.
Last night the band performed a surprise gig at the 100 Club on Oxford Street in London. The trio said tickets sold out in 90 seconds.
Tonight, Kneecap is due to headline Wide Awake Festival in London in front of 25,000 people, in what will be the band's first official live show since Coachella.
