Kiss Full Of Teeth
Star-studded debut album is the dog’s dangly bits
Kiss Full Of Teeth is the debut offering from former member of Takka Takka, Gabriel Levine. It was recorded in various living rooms, garages and (gasp) proper studios in his hometown of Brooklyn. Boasting guest musicians from The National, St. Vincent, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, tUnE-yArDs and many more, the record is an unashamedly indie offering full of broken romances and lo-fi laments. The old-school rock ‘n’ roll vibe of ‘What Good Would That Do?’ is particularly addictive and there’s a chorus to die for, but the more introspective numbers such as the Phil Spector-ish ‘When We Die In South America’ and ‘’Photos Of The End’ are just as good and are sublime slices of measured melancholy that will no doubt make Gabriel And The Hounds one of the top dogs of the American alternative scene over the months to come.
