Kildare group make reggae history

Kildare mavericks The Poets That Know It release what by our reckoning is the first dub reggae single pertaining to Gaelic football.

A double A-sided jobbie, ‘Someday (We Will Have A Sunday)’ features alongside ‘The Wit & Wisdom Of Michael McDowell’, which comprises of two-and-a-half minutes of silence.

It’s the first record to be released on the newly reactivated Divine label, which was responsible in the ‘90s for the first three Sultans Of Ping FC singles.

Those of a literary bent should note that spoken word duties on the 45 are taken care of by award-winning author and playwright John MacKenna.
