Kendrick Lamar drops surprise release on Instagram
It marks his first song since the Drake diss-track ‘Not Like Us’.
Legendary rapper Kendrick Lamar has surprise released a new single on Instagram today. Posted without a caption, it marks his first music since ‘Not Like Us’.
The post is simply made up of a photograph of beaten up black Air Force 1s, referencing Drake’s track ‘Push Ups’, in which he mocked Lamar’s shoe size.
While the song hasn’t hit streaming services yet, it is reportedly titled ‘Watch The Party Die’, according to Variety.

This follows the announcement that Lamar would headline the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime show in New Orleans next February.
His nomination has stirred much controversy in the hip-hop community, with figures like Nicki Minaj complaining that Lil Wayne, a New Orleans native, got snubbed.
However, Lamar has been widely considered one of the greatest hip-hop artists of his generation since his debut album good kid, m.A.A.d city in 2012, winning 17 Grammys and becoming the first non-classical, non-jazz musician to snatch a Pulitzer Prize for his 2017 album DAMN.
