Kele Okereke plots solo Irish tour
His Bloc Party bandmate Russell Lissack also has an album ready to roll.
Bloc Party singer Kele Okereke has announced details of his first solo tour, which kicks off in Ireland.
You can catch him in Dolan’s, Limerick (May 14); Cyprus Avenue, Cork (15); Academy, Dublin (16); and the Spring & Airbrake, Belfast (17). Tickets go on sale on Wednesday March 31, with €20 the asking price in the capital.
Performing as plain old Kele, he’ll be previewing his debut solo album, which features input from Warp Records man Hudson Mohawke and Spank Rock-er Alex Epton.
He’s also confirmed an August 24 show with Delphic as part of this year’s Ibiza Rocks line-up.
Not to be outdone, Bloc Party guitarist Russell Lissack teams up with former Black Moustache woman Milena Mepris under the Pin Me Down banner for the April 12 release of their own self-titled album.
Available digitally from pinmedown.net/shop for £5, it’s got a real electro feel and includes two tracks, ‘Cryptic’ and ‘Time Crisis’, that are both being previewed on the site.
