Katy Perry interested in starring in 'Clueless' musical

Speaking to Vulture,Amy Heckerling, the director of the 1995 film Clueless talked about her efforts to reformat the film for a Broadway show, while talking about the potential of getting some big names involved in the production.

The role of Cher, , played by Alicia Silverstone in the film, seems to be the most attractive role, with Heckerling revealing that none other than katy Perry has expressed interest in covering the role.

"Katy Perry has expressed interest, and I love her to death," said Heckerling, but issues surrounding Perry's hectic schedule have raised doubts about her chances. Heckerling herself suggested Iggy Azalea, whose hit single 'Fancy' has a video that pays tribute to the film.

"It looked like they had more money for the video than I had for the movie," said Heckerling of the video, "But I was extremely flattered and I thought she was amazing. And whoever did the costumes, I don’t know how they did that."
